Invoicing software for independent consultants
Bill by the day, the hour or the retainer, rebill your travel, and keep every engagement’s paperwork in one place. GST applied correctly whether your client is down the road or in another state.

How it works
Bill an engagement in three steps
Set your rates once and invoicing becomes a five-minute job.
Step 01
Save your rates
Store your day rate, hourly rate and any fixed-fee packages as items with their SAC codes, so every invoice starts from the right number.
Step 02
Raise the invoice
Pick the client, add the days or hours as a quantity, and the tax is applied based on where they are registered.
Step 03
Record and review
Record the payment when it arrives and check receivables to see which engagements are still outstanding.
Built for the work
Built for how consulting work is billed
Day rates, hourly rates, fixed fees
One rate card, reusedKeep every rate you charge as a saved item so you are not looking up what you quoted this client last quarter.
Bill units of anythingDays, hours, sessions or deliverables all work as a quantity against a rate, which covers most consulting arrangements without special handling.

Retainers that invoice themselves
Monthly retainers on autopilotSet a recurring invoice once and it goes out on schedule, which removes the most forgettable admin task of the month.
Change without starting overWhen a retainer is renegotiated, update the amount and future invoices follow, while past ones stay as issued.

Travel and costs, back on the bill
Travel rebilled, not absorbedLog flights, hotels and mileage against the client, mark them billable, and they appear on the next invoice with the receipt attached.
Proof when it is queriedEvery rebilled cost keeps its receipt, so a procurement team asking for evidence gets it immediately.

Know what each client is worth
See your real concentrationReports show which clients make up most of your revenue, which is the risk most independents do not look at until it bites.
Spot the slow payersReceivables ageing shows who consistently pays late, which is worth knowing before you agree next year’s terms.

FAQ
Consultant invoicing questions, answered
Does Pinvoice track my billable hours?
No. There is no timer or timesheet module. Record your hours however you already do, in a notebook, calendar or separate app, then enter the total as a quantity against your saved hourly or day rate when you invoice.
How do I bill a monthly retainer?
Set it up as a recurring invoice. Pinvoice raises and sends it on your chosen schedule, so the retainer bills itself and you only intervene when the arrangement changes.
Can I rebill travel to a client?
Yes. Record the expense, tag it to the client and mark it billable. It is offered on their next invoice, at cost or with a markup, and the receipt stays attached for when it is queried.
What tax applies to consulting services?
Consulting is a service and carries a SAC code. The rate depends on the specific service, and whether you charge CGST and SGST or IGST depends on your client’s state. Save both once and each invoice applies the right one.
Can I invoice international clients?
You can raise invoices for clients outside India, but export of services has its own GST treatment and documentation requirements. Confirm how yours should be handled with your accountant before relying on it.
Is it free for a solo consultant?
Yes. Unlimited invoices, clients and expenses at no cost, with no per-invoice fee and no credit card needed.
